Gomez Leads A Star-Studded Lineup

On May 8, Selena Gomez will host the multi-broadcast event “VAX LIVE.” The beloved performer, known for hits like “Lose You To Love Me” is also an activist. She will be leading the show’s group of other talented stars.

So far, the announced performers for Global Citizen’s “VAX LIVE” spans of a variety of genres. Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez will be taking the stage, as well as Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. Vedder is a Global Citizen Advocate who has taken part in many of the organization’s charity events.

Reggaeton star J Balvin will have a moment on screen to share his talent with the audience. R&B singer-songwriter H.E.R. is on deck for “VAX LIVE,” too. H.E.R. is known for fighting for women’s right, and both are working for global equality.

Rounding out the star-studded group is award-winning rock band Foo Fighters. Frontman Dave Grohl constantly does for others. In 2020 he collaborated with fans around the globe for a cover of his hit, “Times Like These.” It rose hundreds of thousands of dollars for COVID-19 relief.

Global Citizen’s Message For “VAX LIVE”

The nonprofit organization understands that music was a uniting force over the past year. They want to celebrate that, while also imparting wisdom, hope, and knowledge about where the world stands.

Global Citizen’s “VAX LIVE: The Concert To Reunite The World” will be broadcast around the globe. The artists and change makers present will educate the audience on the latest public health messages.

In their own words, Global Citizen explains that, “A global recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic depends on global herd immunity, which means everyone must have equal access to vaccines, tests, and treatments around the world.

“If wealthy countries continue to hoard vaccines, the pandemic will evolve for years to come as new COVID-19 strains emerge,” rounded out in an announcement.

“VAX LIVE” will air at 8:00p.m. EST on May 8. Fans around the globe can catch the event hosted by Selena Gomez on ABC, CBS, YouTube, and iHeartRadio’s app.
