J Balvin Teases New Album With ‘Ma’ G’

J Balvin just gave his fans what they were asking for. Last week, he released a brand new single, ‘Ma’ G,’ revealing that it’s the lead single for his upcoming album.

‘Ma’ G’ is the Lead Single of J Balvin’s Forthcoming Album

“This new album is all about me,” Balvin told Rolling Stone. “It’s the first time I’m going to talk about personal stuff. I’ve never done that before … I’m definitely trying to just elevate every single aspect of myself with this album. You have to compete with yourself. It’s about trying to get better and better, and being fearless about it.”

Balvin premiered ‘Ma’ G’ earlier on Saturday ahead of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Avni Yildirim at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The new track will appear on the Colombian artist’s upcoming fifth studio album, the follow-up to last year’s Colores.

‘Ma’ G’ arrives with an accompanying music video filmed in the GRAMMY nominee’s home of Medellín, Colombia. It sees Balvin both out in the streets and in a boardroom, effectively showing off his two sides as both a musician and a savvy businessman. He’s joined by friends and associates in celebration as he raps of the success brought upon by his hard work and dedication to his craft.

He is Working With Post Malone & Katy Perry

In support of the track’s release, Balvin teamed up with 747 and La Plaga Invade on a limited edition merch collection. The range includes a black varsity jacket with a wool body and leather sleeves, a pullover hoodie, cargo sweatpants, a protective face mask, and a leather vegan cap. You can purchase the pieces now on Balvin’s official online store.

Alongside the new song and video, J Balvin is also set to appear alongside Post Malone and Katy Perry on a special anniversary record for the Pokémon franchise, titled Pokémon 25: The Album. Balvin, Perry, and Malone are three of 11 Universal Music Group artists creating songs for the record, to celebrate a quarter-century since Pokémon was launched. The trio and one other yet-to-be-revealed musician will also be releasing music videos to accompany their songs.

“We’re gonna come up with a crazy song. It’s going to catch everybody’s ear,” Balvin told Rolling Stone. “It’s easy to make a Pokémon song if you just want that fan base, but we’re not close-minded. We want everybody to vibe with Pokémon.”
