The Maine Gives Us Love & Anxiety In Real Time

Earlier this month pop rock veterans, The Maine, prove they are only getting better with experience with their eighth studio album. XOXO: From Love and Anxiety in Real Time is the follow up to the band’s 2018 LP You Are OK. It also marks The Maine’s first time (since 2010’s Black & White), that they’ve collaborated on songs with people outside of the band.

The 10-track project is a high energy album that shows The Maine are still bursting with life after 11 years. Throughout that time the band has had its ups and downs being while staying mainly independent. This album is different from the rest because this past year they partnered with Photo Finish Records.

The Band keeps checking this off their list as alterative rock icons and as of most recently they’ve reach a new personal best. The leading single, “Sticky” on the new album is their best-charting single to date. It managed to hit No. 19 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart on dated June 26 and its been up and down since.

As for the rest of the album, it is a new perspective from the band’s normal upbeat rockin’ persona. But it definitely doesn’t stray away from what this group has been working on for over 11 years. If anything the band is more open to experimenting with their sound and it pays off for them.

Overall it is definitely a solid album that sounds like the band is on to something big.
