Kanye West Proving His Timeless Genius With New Album “Donda”

One of the biggest influences in music and fashion, Kanye West, has the world upside-down with his latest project. DONDA is the 10th studio album from the rap veteran, and at this point in his career there is no telling what to expect.

Kanye West

With rumors of a Kanye album dropping on Twitter all last year, but things got interesting this past week. Prior to the album’s release, Kanye held a few listening parties to let people know this is the real deal.

And after the first party in Las Vegas, the internet has been blowing up in anticipation. West’s team also had the album presented at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta a day before its official release.

The album was then confirmed and even teased last week in a very special Beats By Dre commercial. In an advertisement starring Sha’Carri Richardson, Kanye previews new song “No Child Left Behind”.

There aren’t a lot of details yet about the album’s production and concept. But with the trend Kanye’s been on, we do expect a positive message behind the whole thing. The significance of the name of the album also hints at how serious Kanye took this project.

It’s named after his mother, Donda West, who died in 2007 following a surgery.

The album DONDA: With Child  has 23 tracks listed with features from Tyler The Creator, Lil Baby, and more.

Kanye West’s Evolution To DONDA

As one of the greatest rappers of all time, Kanye West has gone through his fair share of phases while making some of the best music of our time. Before this release, Kanye had been keeping quiet, well as quiet as he could. We saw a remixed song titled “Nah Nah Nah” that dropped back in November and also a dope feature on Pop Smoke‘s album.

His last album, Jesus Is King, was released in 2019 however. This project encompassed how much the musician has changed. The Grammy-winner was a dedication album to Kanye’s religious beliefs and helped show the public he’s turned over a new leaf.

Expect much of the same “God-Fearing” perspective with this new album as it should be fun seeing how he mixes Gospel and Hip-Hop.
