The album is releasing 10/7. Fans are excited for the release, but are wondering where Migos stands with each other.
Family Matters
In May 2022, Offset unfollowed Quavo and Takeoff on social media. Quavo and Takeoff then started releasing music together, and Offset began putting out his own solo music. Fans started to catch on, and in June 2022 when Migos cancelled their performance for Governor’s Ball, it really solidified the theory.
In August 2022, TMZ reported that Offset filed a lawsuit against the label. They claim that “he negotiated his solo deal and paid handsomely” for the rights to music. Offset released his single ‘54321’ produced by Baby Keem on August 19th, 2022, and was saying that Quality Control tried to claim it as their own.
Since the unestablished break up, Quavo and Takeoff have released a couple of singles. ‘HOTEL LOBBY’ with Quavo, Takeoff, and Unc & Phew released on May 20th. They then released ‘Us Vs. Them’ with Gucci Mane on July 29th. Lastly, they released ‘Big Stunna’ with Birdman on August 26th, the same day that Offset released his single with Moneybagg Yo, ‘CODE’.
Migos’ Prime
When Migos dropped their album ‘Culture’ in 2017, they started a revolution. Fans loved it! The group’s mix between trap music and mumble rap was perfect for the time that they released the album. Culture was supported by three singles; “Bad and Boujee,” “T-Shirt” and “Slippery.” “Bad and Boujee” was released in October of 2016 and was certified 4x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Culture II and III had major success as well. The trilogy features artists such as Lil Uzi Vert, DJ Khalid, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Drake, Cardi B, and many more well known music artists in the hiphop/rap/trap world.
New Beginnings
Though fans are excited for Only Built For Infinity Links, Offset will be missed. The album is Takeoff and Quavo’s debut duo album since the apparent break up. Some fans blame the non-established break up on the pressure of making better albums than the Culture trilogy. Many other fans are heartbroken by theory and are hoping for an update from the group soon, even though things have been very private regarding that issue. Hopefully we’ll see Migos come back together for a Culture 4!
The Migos having possibly broken up is sad but makes sense to me. It’s been clear for a while now that they were never going to make an album as good as Culture together again.

Migos allegedly breaking up is honestly the end of an era. They changed the young generation of trap music, put Versace back on the map in urban spaces & created an entire generation of rap offspring
All good things come to an end, but their impact will be felt for years to come
