Welcome to Music Daily’s Trending Tracks, where we highlight the artists and trends occupying the music industry’s attention. Some come out of the woodwork, others have endured a months-long crusade to greatness. Nonetheless, all of them are captivating the short-circuited minds of Gen-Z social media users.

This week, Gracie Abrams’ newest collaboration with Taylor Swift, titled “us.”, launches the 24-year-old’s sophomore album, The Secret of Us, into the viral sphere! Other entries include Colombian superstar Kali Uchis and rap sensation Ice Spice.

“us.” by Grace Abrams (featuring Taylor Swift)

Gracie Abrams is already a mouthwatering internet phenomenon following the comforting indie feel of “Close To You” and acoustic “Risk.” What could make the rollout for her sophomore album, The Secret of Us, even better? A Taylor Swift feature on the title track “us.” will do the trick! In an Instagram post praising the collaboration, Abrams said, “Writing this entire song from 2am to 6am was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. @taylorswift, now we know how to use a fire extinguisher. I love you.” The pair grew close while Abrams opened for Swift’s first leg of The Eras Tour last year. Stream “us.” by Gracie Abrams (feat. Taylor Swift) below!

“Never Be Yours” by Kali Uchis

Bouncing back after her record-breaking fifth studio album and newborn baby, Kali Uchis decided to revamp her fan-favorite demo track, “Never Be Yours”—nearly a decade after first surfacing! In response to a fan, the Colombian singer-songwriter said, “i re-recorded it for the kuchies [her fanbase name] if you truly want it i will release it.” This is the first release since January’s Orquídeas, which went No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 and topped both its US Latin Pop Albums and Top Latin Albums charts. The album also won Favorite Pop Album at the 2024 Latin American Music Awards. Stream “Never Be Yours” by Kali Uchis below!

“Phat Butt” by Ice Spice

Ice Spice and her “Phat Butt” cannot escape controversy! From people hating that she’s still blasting her bodacious body to wearing her signature orange in various updos, the rollout for her debut album, Y2K, has been anything but Grahhhh (!). Instead of indulging the negativity, Spice takes it to the booth for the RIOT-produced single “Phat Butt”—just your average diss track. Fully embodying Nicki Minaj energy, Spice swings on haters for three minutes straight with “son” lyricism. “Got these b****** copyin’ my pose,” she spits. “Got these b***** bitin’ on my flows / Like ballerinas, keep ’em on they toes.” This single follows previous viral tracks “Gimme A Light” and “Think U The S*** (Fart).” Stream “Phat Butt” by Ice Spice below!
