PJ Harding and Noah Cyrus’ Second Hit Is Out Now

PJ Harding and Noah Cyrus are the duo we didn’t know we needed. Individually, each artist is known for their vulnerability and honesty in their music. They are songwriters at heart whose musical talents allow fans an inside look into who they are. Together, PJ Harding and Noah Cyrus have created a new world of being honest within music.

An Inside Look Into PJ Harding and Noah Cyrus

Harding’s most notable success is as a producer for the likes of Ruel and Chromeo. Cyrus is a multi-platinum singer-songwriter whose rise to fame has led to her first Grammy nomination. (She’s up for Best New Artist this year. The annual ceremony is set for March 14.)   These two artists became one back in 2019. While working on a few songs for Noah’s own EP, 2020’s The End of Everything, they formed a bond. That bond led to the multi-platinum “July,” which was on that fateful EP, and has hundreds of millions of streams. Now, through a pandemic, they kept their bond alive by recording songs through the Internet.    This new, hit-making duo have a new single out titled “Dear August.” This song is leading up to their debut EP, People Don’t Change. If anything similar to “Dear August,” it will be a stripped down and reflective piece of music.

New Single, Forthcoming Record

With warm acoustic guitar riffs and goosebump-raising melodies, “Dear August” is a song for the ages. It transcends genres, as well. There are some hidden folk and Country Tendencies within the relaxed talk track. The classic, 1960s Style Americana and singer-songwriter Vibes are very evident.    In a press release, Harding explains: “Last summer, ‘July’ was really connecting, but it was an incredibly uncertain time. “I’m fairly easygoing, but I was deeply anxious about being in Los Angeles with the pandemic getting out of control. I was having lots of discussions with my family about moving back to Australia. We eventually did. ‘Dear August’ was written as a love letter to the future, hoping there’s a light on the other side. We haven’t seen the light, but we’re still looking.”   Additionally, Noah made some observations about the intimacy and timing of their music. “It was full circle and funny for us to write ‘Dear August’ after ‘July’. I was going through a lot. I suffer from anxiety and depression. We were in this cloud of darkness where it’s very easy to fall into bad habits. July and August 2020 were the hardest parts of quarantine for me. I lost my grandma, and I was looking to the future for hope. The song reminds me you will get to the light at the end of the tunnel. It may not be perfect, but you’ll get there.”   To go along with “Dear August” is also Notebook style music video. Playing up the most emotional and romantic qualities of the film, the music video hits just as deep. The letters and love, all set to the tune of this acoustic guitar laden track, is beautiful and mesmerizing. PJ Harding and Noah Cyrus have truly set the tone for their musical companionship and upcoming EP.
