John Mayer Plots Solo Acoustic Spring Tour

John Mayer announced that for the first time ever, he will head out on an entirely acoustic solo tour, starting this spring.

John Mayer Solo Tour Kicks Off in March

Mayer is deciding to step away from the heavy guitars. This time, he’s taking his acoustic one and playing live in front of thousands of fans. Produced by Live Nation, the John Mayer Solo tour will kick off on March 11th in Newark, NJ. It will visit 19 cities across the United States and Canada, including Boston, Toronto, Nashville, Atlanta, Phoenix, and Vancouver before coming to an end on April 14th in Los Angeles, CA.

JP Saxe, Joy Olakodun & Alec Benjamin Will Join as Support Acts

Mayer is not going on tour entirely alone, though. He’s taking amazing rising artists along to join him as support acts every night. Originally, Lizzy McAlpine and Alec Benjamin were set to put those shoes on. But, after heavy social media influence from angry fans, Lizzy was ultimately discouraged to join John on tour and she decided to step away from the role. Now, it will be JP Saxe and Joy Olakodun who join him on stage, with Alec Benjamin still going on the tour as well.
