Nickelodeon-originated band Big Time Rush announced they are getting back together for a two-date reunion tour seven years after parting ways.
Big Time Rush Reunites After Seven Years
Hinting to fans that an announcement was coming, the band came back to social media to update their profile picture to a plain red-colored photo. Finally, a week after their profile picture update, they dropped a video announcing they were back. In it, each member of the band is approached by a narrator; who reminds them of the good times they had while being in Big Time Rush. They all decline to take part in the project in the beginning, but at the end, the narrator convinces all of them to reunite.
Along with the video, they captioned their announcement, “BIG TIME RUSH LIVE! WE ARE BACK! It’s been a minute, but we couldn’t be more excited to see you! Let’s make up for lost time. Dec 15 – Chicago Theater, Chicago, IL. Dec 18 – Hammerstein Ballroom, New York, NY. Don’t forget to sign up for first access to pre-sale tickets!”
The Big Time Rush Live dates will consist of all four original members Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr., and Logan Henderson. “It’s 2021 the people of the world are ready for a comeback of epic proportions,” the promo video teases. “Together these four men will live it big time. The show must go on.”
Catch Them Live in December
The pop band originated from the Nickelodeon series Big Time Rush in 2009 and released three studio albums – BTR in 2010, Elevate in 2011, and 24/Seven in 2013. The group set off on five tours from 2011 to 2014, when they ceased touring. The series concluded in the summer of 2013.
This is not the first time the band members reunite since parting ways, though. Last year, all four members conducted a virtual reunion for fans to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their song “Worldwide”. The acoustic version of the track was uploaded to PenaVega’s YouTube channel.
