After 30 years of career, Laura Pausini has received yet another recognition. The Italian artist has been named Person of the Year from the Latin Recording Academy – the same organization that distributes the Latin Grammys. The award wants to celebrate musicians of Ibero-American ancestry for their “artistic achievements and humanitarian efforts”.
“Laura Pausini is a multifaceted and multilingual interpreter – said Manuel Abud, managing director of the Latin recording academy. The award wants to recognize her constant commitment to social justice causes: world hunger, violence against women, lgbtq rights “.
“I am very honored to receive this recognition – said Laura Pausini. It’s indescribable to be named person of the year as I celebrate 30 years of my career. I can only say thank you: to the members of the Academy, to my colleagues and to the public. You made my dream come true.
The singer from Solarolo, Italy, will be celebrated in one of the gala evenings of the Latin Grammy Week in Seville. The event will be a tribute concert featuring songs by the artist herself performed by international singers and friends.
Laura’s Challenges
