Jazz legend Tonny Bennett and global superstar Lady Gaga have reunited once again for the lead single of their upcoming album, Love for Sale. “I Get A Kick Out Of You” marks the beginning of this new chapter.
Bennett & Gaga Go Way Back
The pair first connected back in 2014, when they launched their blended album Cheek To Cheek. The album featured classy jazz songs where they showcased their talent and fusion their vocals. Some of the songs were duets starring Bennett and Gaga, while other songs were solos.
Fast forward to 2021, and now the pair are reuniting for a second blended album. It will also be Bennett’s last album ever, closing out his music career. Back in January, Bennett announced he was battling Alzheimer’s disease; making the new album a huge and impressive accomplishment for the music legend.
To celebrate Bennett’s 95th birthday, they decided to release their new song. “I Get A Kick Out Of You” is just the lead single off Love for Sale, which is officially coming out on October 1. Full of covers of Cole Porter’s biggest songs, the album will feature a total of 12 songs and will follow a similar structure to Cheek To Cheek. They will also be accompanied by Tony Bennett’s quartet and The Brian Newman Quintet; along with big band and orchestral arrangements by Marion Evans and Jorge Callandrelli.

The music video for “I Get A Kick Out Of You” showcases Bennett and Gaga during the song’s studio recording. Throughout the video, it’s clear that their friendship and appreciation for each other are very strong; as they share love-filled looks and hugs the entire time.
Last week, Gaga and Bennett performed two concerts at Radio City Music Hall. The shows, called “One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga,” were Bennett’s final performances in New York.
Gaga took to Twitter to honor Bennett before the final concert Thursday night. “Can’t wait for our last show tonight Tony. The world loves you, and we’re all so lucky to witness your gift, your generosity, and your joy tonight at Radio City,” she wrote.
