Global hitmaker The Weeknd announced that his upcoming album The Dawn is “complete,” and he has exciting new features coming soon.
The Weeknd Wants to Find the Perfect Guest Features
On his new Apple Music 1 radio show Memento Mori, which just came back after a hiatus, The Weeknd shared some major updates and shared the exciting news. “A lot has been going down, a lot of moving pieces. Been settling in a new home, been shooting videos. Been working on pre-productions for another world. Working on music for the pre-productions for the other world. Taking time to myself so I don’t completely lose my mind. But now we’re back.”
About the album update, he shared that the only thing he’s working on is getting the perfect guest features. “I hope you had a great summer. Some exciting features coming out in the fall before the album drops. … Some Dawn updates: Album is complete. Only thing that’s missing is a couple of characters who are key to the narrative – some people that are near and dear to me; some people that inspired my life as a child, and some that inspire me now. More to come in the following months.”

He Was Just Honored at the Music in Action Awards
Last month, The Weeknd was awarded the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award at the Music in Action Awards. The singer was recognized by the organization and the Black Music Action Coalition for his contributions to social justice. “I actually first met Quincy Jones in Vegas a long time ago,” The Weeknd said in his acceptance speech. “He pulled up to one of my club shows and when I got off stage, he was waiting on the side. I was so excited to meet him. There were fans on the other side screaming and trying to get my attention, but I was so focused on him. Quincy Jones, my idol, the reason why I make music.”
This summer, The Weeknd shared the first single off The Dawn, “Take My Breath”; giving fans something to be excited about. Since then, he joined forces with Belly and Nas on “Die For It” as well as with Kanye West and Lil Baby on “Hurricane.”
