Oscar Lang Says Goodbye on “Write Me A Letter”

Rising alternative artist Oscar Lang shared the last puzzle piece for his debut album, Chew the Scenery, out on August 13.

“Write Me A Letter” is a Soft Ballad

“Write Me A Letter” is Oscar’s latest single, which forms part of his debut album Chew the Scenery. So far, he has also shared four other songs that are part of the project as well. Among them, are “Stuck,” “Are You Happy?,” “21st Century Hobby,” and “Thank You.”

Chew the Scenery comes out on August 13, so we only have a few days left of waiting for the big release. “Write Me A Letter” is a soft, piano-based ballad where he expresses the feeling of losing someone.  “But oh, you look sad. Your smile has fallen down. I know you feel bad. And it feels like you’re gonna drown. So listen, listen close. My heart hurts letting you go. So write me a letter sometime,” he sings in the sad chorus.

He Dedicates it to the Women in His Life

In a statement, Oscar shared that the song was actually inspired by his girlfriend. “‘Write Me A Letter’ is an ode to the softer side of my music, it was written about my girlfriend just before she was about to leave to go on tour for a few months. I think the notion of a handwritten letter is old-fashioned but oddly charming.”

While announcing the release of the new single on Instagram, he shared the sad news that his grandmother had recently passed away, and he dedicates this song to her. “New song ‘Write Me A Letter’ out now. Link in bio. This one’s dedicated to Mo Lang who passed away last week. Although she didn’t quite understand my rock-type music she did love my soft piano stuff and I feel so privileged that I got to play this song for her before she passed. Love u lots granny mo will miss you forever. Hope you guys like this one as much as she did.”
