Lil Wayne reminds us his talent has ‘No Ceilings”

Mr. Carter Does It Again

Over the weekend, rap legend Lil Wayne released Side B of his No Ceilings 3 mixtape that dropped late November. The mixtape hosted by DJ Khalid features Drake, Young Thug, Gudda Gudda, and even Wayne’s two sons.

The mixtape follows releases of both No Ceilings (2009, 2015), Dedication 6, and studio albums: Tha Carter V (2018) and Funeral(2020).

Weezy incorporates the same things that made the No Ceilings installments so beloved. The lyrical covers of the most popular songs and his word-play on original beats don’t fall short of the hype.

No Ceilings 3

Side A has 20 tracks containing recent hits from artists like Lil Baby, DaBaby, Pop Smoke, Travis Scott, Drake, Future, Polo G, and 24kGoldn. The mixtape surprised the masses two weeks ago with a sudden drop, and ever since, Mr. Carter and the Young Money label have been hinting at Side B on Twitter.

Lil Wayne announced the 14-track Side B on Friday (Dec. 18). Hosted by a DJ for the first time, it features verses from Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Rich the Kid, and more.

Other notable covers on both sides include For The Night (Side A), Life is Good (Side A), Tyler Herro feat. Big Sean (Side B), and Sum 2 Prove (Side B). DatPiff.com exclusively released the mixtape and is available for download now.

Saving The Mixtape Game

Mixtapes are a dying art and as a pioneer of the craft, Wayne felt it was only right to resurrect it. Tunechi killed about every track on this mixtape and for the fans that were around for his 2010’s domination, it gives the perfect nostalgia of prime Lil Wayne.

Wayne also hinted that has intentions of dropping an album in 2021. The news was leaked after DJ Khaled hinted at it on the outro of a track called Lamar. He said, “Be ready for I Am Not a Human Being III — the album coming 2021.”
