Elli Moore Releases Intoxicating New EP, “Drink Me”

Elli Moore’s Drink Me EP is a short and sweet soundtrack for the summer boasting songs that are outright intoxicating.

All the Buzz with “Drink Me”

Beginning with the upbeat “Green Juice,” Moore explores the story of stumbling upon a sugar daddy while shopping for, you guessed it, green juice. It’s a fun, carefree track with unserious lyrics, paired with a poppy beat that sets the tone for the rest of the extended play. Ellie revealed in a TikTok that the track was actually written with other artists in mind. Songs like “Green Juice,” “Lemonade,” and “Romeo” were originally pitched to K-POP artists New Jeans, Red Velvet, and ITZY, but ultimately were passed up on. As such, Elli Moore decided to release them on her own. And hence, the Drink Me EP was born.

“Green Juice” is followed up with the unapologetically sex-positive track, “Sex on the Beach.” The third song off the EP is ‘”Blueberry Mojito,” the sadder, more transparent counterpart to the previous two tracks. This song delves into the regret that one finds themselves feeling after drinking away their problems – specifically, post break-up. It hosts our favorite chorus off the EP, with melodic vocals that truly display Moore’s vocal range and artistry.

Next is “LEMONADE,” the leading single off the Drink Me EP. It’s an inspirational, realistic take on the motto “when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade.” Moore sings about taking the good out of every situation and finding the silver-linings in life. This track was pitched to artists like Dua Lipa and TWICE, but ultimately ended with Elli herself. It’s a great F-U song of resilience that speaks true to Elli Moore’s brand of happy-go-lucky, miss independent singer song-writer.

Lastly, the EP is rounded off with “Moonshine.” Here’s what Ellie had to say about the song on her Instagram:

“this is moonshine. i wrote it for anyone who is struggling to feel seen. whether that is in your job, your relationship, your identity, your family, whatever it is. you will have your time in the sun, but for now, we’ll just lay right here in the moonshine until it’s our turn.”
