South Korean girl group ITZY released the EP Blah Blah Blah on October 5th. The five member band includes Yeji , Lia , Ryujin , Chaeryeong and Yuna. Their new EP features “Blah Blah Blah” and new track “Can’t tie me down,” along with their instrumentals. The two pop tracks have upbeat EDM style instrumentals with empowering lyrics.

“Blah Blah Blah”

To begin with, the first single “Blah Blah Blah” released on September 20th already has over 1 million streams on Spotify alone. The warped synths and simple percussion are reminiscent of other K-Pop songs. ITZY does chant-like talking throughout the song to match the high energy production. Although they do sing a little for example on the final verse. ITZY tells us to preserve and chase your dreams despite the hurdles you may face. “you can’t imitate anyone Never give up keep it comingStaying true to yourself will get you to where you need to be. In the darkness you will have loneliness as you try to chase your own victory. But, “life is a stage” and just keep on fighting.

“Can’t tie me down”

In contrast, ITZY flaunts their singing abilities on “Can’t tie me down.” The powerful anthem is confidence-fueled, and motivational. The lyrics suggest to focus on the future instead of past mistakes, and worrying is a waste of time. As we grow up time flies by and you have to continue to evolve. “Like a flower in full bloom, Make! Bloom Bloom Bloom/ Color This City” We are flowers that will continue to prosper and grow. And nothing should break you down.

ITZY’s confidence shines bright while singing about how they aren’t easy to win over and people are lovesick over them. The five queens have magnetic energy and radiate confidence onto their audience. Give the track a listen right here.
