Ashe’s “I’m Fine” Is The Song We All Needed

Rising star Ashe just announced her debut album, Ashlyn, will be out on May 7. To celebrate, she released her single “I’m Fine” just one day after the announcement.

We Can All Relate To “I’m Fine”

“I’m Fine” is a song for everyone who has ever felt sad, but still said they were fine to other people. Influenced by the legendary Beach Boys, Ashe says, “‘I’m Fine’ is about having that one person in your life. When you’re trying to fake it and you’re trying to say, ‘Oh, no, I’m doing okay,’ it’s having that one person who says: ‘I know you’re not okay. You can’t pretend with me.’”

She adds, “I have a couple of people in my life that can always call me out when I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m fine.’ And, yeah, those are the people we need in our lives.”

“I’m Fine” marks the fifth song that has been released from the upcoming album. Ashlyn will feature her ballad with FINNEAS “Till Forever Falls Apart,” “Save Myself,” and “Moral of the Story,” along with its remix with Niall Horan.

Ashlyn’s Upcoming Release

Along with “I’m Fine,” Ashe also revealed the album trailer for Ashlyn, where we see the star surrounded by candles in an all white room.  Out on May 7, Ashe says the album will be “Deeply reflective and honest. Full of stories of my experiences with fear and pain and turning those hard things into joy and independence.”

She explained, “I’m an experiential writer. There was no way I was going to make an album that didn’t address my personal journey. From my brother’s death this last year to my own experiences with emotional abuse. I think you have to be vulnerable to create something really great and I believe I did that. Writing this album was also an opportunity to show that I’m not just a songwriter and a singer. I’m also a producer and a musician with a very clear vision for my art.”
