About a month ago, Dutch DJ Martin Garrix released his latest single, “Wherever You Are,” with DubVision and Shaun Farrugia. Originally debuted at Ultra Miami, this track tells the story of someone who would do anything to see the one they love. They do this even though they have barriers to break through. Featuring Garrix’s signature melodic beat and Shaun Farrugia’s heartfelt lyrics, this track has already racked up three million streams. It will probably see much more in the future given Garrix’s popularity in the world of EDM.
As long as Martin Garrix has been around, he has never missed a chord in any of his music. Getting his start in 2012, he released his most popular song, “Animals,” a year later in 2013. Becoming an overnight sensation put the young DJ on DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ in the number 40 spot. As his popularity and music grew, he quickly signed to an American entertainment company, Scooter Braun’s Projects. He became the first EDM client to be signed to the company, with a deal split between MusicAllStars Management and Spinnin’ Records.
Known for his other popular songs such as “In The Name of Love” with Bebe Rexha, “Scared To Be Lonely” with Dua Lipa, “Tremor” with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, and “Virus (How About Now)” with Moti, this DJ seems to have done it all. He’s played the most popular EDM festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, EDC, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Coachella and Ibiza. Martin Garrix has also been on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list for three consecutive years. He also created his own label Stmpd Records.
As festival season is at its peak, Garrix has a huge lineup of shows for fans everywhere. He will play in Vegas starting on July 19th while continuing to play in Ibiza with his residency throughout the summer.
