Beyoncé Reveals Trailer for Renaissance Concert Film

The end is never really the end. Just hours after the final concert of the Renaissance world tour, Beyoncé dropped the trailer for Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé. The film is a concert documentary capturing the performance and behind-the-scenes of the world tour.

In the trailer, the singer discusses the art of performance and her connection with her fans. “When I am performing, I am nothing but free. The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free. And no one is judged. Start over, start fresh, create the new. That’s what the Renaissance is about.”

Beyoncé adds: “I feel liberated. I’ve transitioned into a new animal.” Regarding what she hopes the film will do for her fans, she says: “At any point, they can close their eyes and be right back there and take it with them.”

RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ

According to the YouTube description for the trailer: “RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ accentuates the journey of RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR. From its inception, to the opening in Stockholm, Sweden, to the finale in Kansas City, Missouri. It is about Beyoncé’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft. Received with extraordinary acclaim, Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR created a sanctuary for freedom, and shared joy, for more than 2.7 million fans.”

This is not Beyoncé’s first concert film. She previously released I Am…Yours, in 2009, Life Is but a Dream, in 2013, Lemonade, in 2016, and Homecoming, in 2019. The 2013 release of Lemonade is the most notable, spawning several memes and Halloween costumes that year.

The trailer features appearances by Beyoncé’s family, including her daughter, Blue Ivy, and her husband, Jay-Z.

Tickets for the film are available now via the singer’s website. It will be showing nationally across numerous screens beginning December 1st, 2023.
