YUNGBLUD Unveils Self-Titled Third Album

English singer-songwriter YUNGBLUD released his latest album, which is titled like his stage name.

YUNGBLUD Has All The New Fan-Favorites

The new album YUNGBLUD arrives as the artist’s third full-length project. The previous ones were weird! in 2020, and 21st Century Liability in 2022. The album includes a total of 12 songs, featuring fan-favorites like “The Funeral,” “Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today,” and “Memories,” featuring WILLOW. It also adds newly-released songs like “Cruel Kids,” “I Cry 2,” and “Don’t Go.”

Teasing “Tissues” Before the Album Release

Last week, however, YUNGBLUD previewed the album with one last track before its official release. “Tissues” was released on Tuesday, 3 days before the album was set to see the light. The song samples The Cure’s classic single “Close To Me,” and gives it a second life. In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, he discussed how he got permission to use the track, explaining he exchanged emails with The Cure’s Robert Smith.

“I got his email through some connection, YUNGBLUD said. “Then I emailed and was like, ‘Hello Robert Smith of the Cure… ‘Close To Me’ — probably the most iconic British beat of all time. May I use it in the song? “And I was like ‘I don’t know what I’m gonna do if he says no.’ But he got back in a couple of days. He types in all caps, Robert. He was like, ‘HELLO DOM, YOU CAN USE IT ALL GOOD HERE, LOVE ROBERT.’ Called my boys up and was like, ‘I’ve sampled ‘Close To Me’ they’ve let me use it.’”

He is Currently on an Intimate Tour

To celebrate the release of the new album, YUNGBLUD is currently on an exclusive 5-date tour across record stores in the United States. He’s visiting 9 cities in only 5 days, and is playing acoustic sets while performing the new songs to his fans. The tour kicked off last Friday, on the album release date. It will come to an end tomorrow, September 6, with one last performance in Long Beach, CA.
