Miguel, Kirk Franklin, SWV and more set to perform at the event.

Live Nation Urban and Jesse Collins Entertainment are returning with this year’s Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom. The celebration will air live from the Los Angeles Greek Theatre on Monday, June 19 at 8 pm EST. This year’s lineup includes Miguel, Kirk Franklin, SWV, Coi Leray and Jodeci, with other still-unannounced performers and presenters.

The evening’s musical directors include Grammy and Emmy Award-winner Adam Blackstone and The Roots co-founder and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Questlove.

“We want to be a destination for people to both understand and celebrate a holiday of this magnitude.”

Excerpt of statement from Chris Licht, chairman and CEO of CNN Worldwide.

Shawn Gee, President of Live Nation Urban, expressed deep gratitude for the event’s collaborative effort. “Last year, we launched Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom, and it was emotional and unforgettable for everyone involved. We’ve teamed up with our partners at CNN and Jesse Collins Entertainment again and this year we are broadcasting live from the historic Los Angeles venue, the Greek Theatre. We are looking forward to educating and celebrating the Juneteenth holiday.”

Throughout the concert, CNN and OWN will air programming to “uplift and educate viewers about Juneteenth on its 158th anniversary.”

Tina Perry, President of OWN TV Network & OWN OTT Streaming, touched on the concert’s cultural relevance in her statement. “OWN is honored to simulcast this year’s concert. Juneteenth continues to be deeply important to our audience and it’s this deep significance that makes this simulcast really feel like an opportunity to be of service. We are taking this day to celebrate alongside American families and reflect on this historic turning point for our nation.”

Last year’s event roster held multi-genre legendary talent like Yolanda Adams, The Roots, Billy Porter, Earth, Wind & Fire, Jhené Aiko, and Lucky Daye.
