Last Thursday, Nigerian-born, Toronto-based artist TOBi did a live performance video for “Too Hot.” The single is the leading track off a special project debuting this week.

This latest release follows his freestyle video for “Shall I Continue?” and comes ahead of his forthcoming three-track bundle Shall I Continue? set for release on October 28th.

And in the midst of TOBi gearing up for his forthcoming bundle release, the 2021 Juno Award winner has been touring with Grammy Award-winning duo Brasstracks. In addition to opening for them, TOBi and Brasstracks are performing their collaborative EP titled Good Luck For Real.

TOBi has been slowly but surely climbing the ladder to becoming one of music’s best new stars. So far, he has stood out among the crowd with his smooth jazzy instrumentals and unique rap flow. The artist also sprinkles a few singing vocals in every song showing his wide range of talent.

Look Out For TOBi

He is the winner of the 2021 Juno Award for Best Rap Recording of the Year for his latest project Elements, Vol. 1.  (2020) which sent him into the mainstream. Before this album, TOBi released his debut album STILL in May 2019 which has some solid feedback.

Both albums explore themes of vulnerability, post-traumatic growth, self-reflection, and masculinity. In addition to the content, he blends hip-hop, R&B, soul, grime & Afrobeats that have influenced his artistry to create original tracks.

And so far this year, he has been busy with singles and tours with a few projects in the works. His latest single “Whoa” with fellow Torontonian rapper Jazz Cartier was released to critical praise. “Whoa” follows a slew of tracks released over the summer including “Off The Drugs” with Mick Jenkins, “Come As You Are” featuring Baby Rose, and “Don’t Touch!.”

TOBi is currently working towards finishing his next full album project. So stay tuned for more music from TOBi coming soon.
