This week, the upcoming rapper TOBi dropped a new single with fellow Canadian Jazz Cartier and it may be on its way up the charts. The single “Woah” is the latest track from the Nigeria-born lyrist that has been taking off with his unique sound since 2019.
The track is a chill vibe with plenty of rhythm and lyrical play to keep your head bumping back and forth. The chemistry shown by both artists creates a unique atmosphere that let their minds roam free. The production is great and the beat is on point, but TOBi’s flow is what really makes the song a banger.
The song’s content is slightly mysterious but catchy. Both Jazz and TOBi take this time to flex a little as they talk about navigating through their crazy lives. And as for TOBi himself, a lot is going for the winner of the 2021 Juno Award for Best Rap Recording of the Year.

“Woah” follows a slew of TOBi’s latest tracks that have been blowing up. This includes “Off The Drugs” with Mick Jenkins, “Come As You Are” featuring Baby Rose, and “City Blues”. Voted by Complex Magazine as “a top artist to watch” TOBi has received countless critical praise for his recent projects.
Even with the pandemic in full swing, the rising star signed with Same Plate Entertainment/RCA Records in 2020 and has enjoyed over 50 million streams globally. His breakout album ELEMENTS displayed his fluid style of modern rap and old-school soul, making plenty of fans in the process.
Prior to ELEMENTS, TOBi released his debut album STILL in 2019 that explores themes of vulnerability, self-reflection, and masculinity. Through all his work TOBi has shown how deep he truly is while also not shying away from what is hot right now.
His sound is special and has the potential to cultivate a huge following. For now, he is getting ready to make crowds very happy as we get back to concerts.
TOBi will be joining Grammy award-winning Brooklyn-based duo Brasstracks on tour kicking off September 30th in Chicago, Il. He will also be performing alongside the duo on a few collaborative singles currently in the works.
