SZA Shares the Video For Her Song “The Anonymous Ones”

On September 24th, 2021 SZA, stage name of Solána Imani Rowe, released the video for her songThe Anonymous Ones’. The song is featured on the soundtrack of the movie “Dear Evan Hansen.”

The song featured in the soundtrack of the movie “Dear Evan Hansen”

The Universal Pictures film adaptation of the Broadway musical “Dear Evan Hansen” has been released on September 24th, 2021. The director of the movie, entitled as the musical, is Stephen Chbosky. He is famous for his “The Perks of Being A Wallflower,” “The Beauty and the Beast” and “Wonder”.

Songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are the writers the original songs of the musical. They collaborated with actress Amandla Stenberg to write the new song “The Anonymous Ones.” Stenberg performs the new song in the movie and is hoping for it to be a real moment for her movie character, Alana.

SZA also performed the song, and the soundtrack includes both version of “The Anonymous Ones.” The soundtrack features other songs from artist successful artists such as as Sam Smith and Summer Walker, Finneas, Tori Kelly, Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay.

SZA recalls both the movie and the song lyrics

In the Colin Tilley directed video, the artist underlines the deep message of the lyrics. Everyone is anonymously fighting their own battles, and no one really knows another’s story. The song highlights indeed how even Alana also has inner problems despite the attention is mainly on the protagonist,

In the first scene of the video, SZA recalls the movie. We can see SZA writing a letter to her own self. On her diary we can indeed read the words “Dear Solána.” The protagonist Evan Hansen does the same when writing the letter to himself during the movie.

The movie is currently out now as well as the soundtrack. As for SZA herself, she has no tour or upcoming songs coming just yet. But be sure to check back on MusicDaily for more updates.
