Sarah Kinsley, singer/songwriter and producer, drops new single “Oh No Darling!” and announces a North American tour.
Sarah Kinsley Is A One-Woman Show
Born in 2001, Sarah Kinsley has made leaps and bounds with her music. An indie pop and alternative pop artist, Kinsley proves to the world that one-woman shows are real. Kinsley writes, sings, and produces all of her songs in her bedroom with her own makeshift studio setup. She plays the strings, piano, and guitars in all her songs. She arranges the MIDI instruments and records sounds and vocal tracks with her DAWs, or, Digital Audio Workstations, which are the software and programs used for recording, sound design, and mixing.
In 2019, Kinsley released her first EP, The Fall. Since then, she has wowed listeners with her extensive knowledge and talent. With a background in classical music and music theory, Kinsley is able to create incredibly captivating music.
“Oh No Darling!”
“Oh No Darling!” is Kinsley’s latest single. Released on April 14th, the song is a mix of disco pop, eerie vocals, and synthesizers.
According to Max Pilley at DIY Magazine, in a press release, Kinsley discussed the story behind the song.
“‘Oh No Darling!’ is a massive rush of chaos, unashamed irony, a distinct rejoice in the stupidity and silliness of youth,” she says. “The track is enlivened by ambiguity: the impulse to leave, to run, to shut the door on childhood: to say, ‘I am new and I am not who I was before!’ And yet here I am questioning at every point: do we ever really know? Was the illusion ever really there?”
Kinsley says that “Oh No Darling!” is her “tumbling into the ‘second decade’: of feeling and falling, of being unsure and yet free.”
This sentiment is expressed with her image-heavy, evocative lyrics. The first verse begins the song with:
“I was a child for a minute
Buckled up in pearls and hair
I look somewhat like a memory
When you were young and fair
Wandering the depths of nowhere”

Sarah Kinsley Will Make Her Way Across North America
Sarah Kinsley is set to hit the road this June on a tour across North America. She’ll begin in Toronto, ON at The Drake on June 3rd. Then, she’ll hit a few more venues before finishing up at The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA on June 8th. Finally, she’ll close things up and head to Queens, NY to perform at the Governor’s Ball on June 10th.
A few months later, in August, Kinsley will be there on the 6th to perform at Lollapalooza.
