Paris Hilton Re-Records ‘Stars Are Blind’ with Kim Petras

The "Unholy" singer appears on the new rendition of Paris Hilton's reggae-pop classic, "Stars Are Blind (Paris's Version.)"

Pop culture icons unite as Paris Hilton and pop’s new princess Kim Petras take “Stars Are Blind” to a whole new level. The initially-unpopular single collected dust on Paris’s self-titled 2006 debut album until Gen-Z TikTok users discovered a past-life worth the FOMO. Yes, TikTok shortens the 20-year trend cycle by resurrecting the late 2000s dark pop phase running rampant through every club, honoring Heidi Montag’s Superficial, Britney Spears’s Blackout and Nelly Furtado’s Maneater.

Pop music’s most-loyal student, Kim Petras, studied these icons under a microscope and even credited Spears for how the “Unholy” singer learned English. Even after Paris Hilton starred in Petras’s first music video, “I Don’t Want It At All,” the pair never left each other’s side– whether it be award shows or a fashion event. But now, the thee duo revisited Hilton’s now-classic track “Stars Are Blind.”

While the track’s extra heavy synths don’t deviate from its original reggae-pop, Petras’s new verse is the right antidote. “Baby, baby, I could be your confidante. Come on over, show me if you’re down or not. That’s hot, make your whole jaw drop, ” teases Petras while nodding towards Hilton’s iconic “That’s Hot” catchphrase.

Paris Hilton’s First-Ever Concert

The-heiress-turned-singer staged her debut concert Wednesday in Los Angeles. Hilton’s DJ friend and writing collaborator, Alex Chapman, opened the show. Then came a surprise appearance from Kim Petras to perform their new rendition of “Stars Are Blind.” Other performers include Saweetie and Ultra Nate.

“This show is truly such a dream come true,” Hilton says of first solo gig in a post-show Instagram post. “I am so grateful for all of the support and love I felt on stage, the energy from the crowd was absolutely electrifying. It’s always been a dream of mine to perform live and share this experience with my incredible fans, and I can’t wait for my next show!!!”

Hilton announced that new music is coming, describing the sound as mostly EDM “with hints of pop sprinkled throughout.” Kim Petras’s first major-label studio album, Feed The Beast, is out on June 23.
