Khalid Showing A ‘New Normal’ With Latest Track

Last Wednesday, R&B singer-songwriter Khalid introduced us to a new norm as he drops his latest single. “New Normal” is the newest song from the rising star and he comes with a meaningful message.

Unlike his previous releases, this track is more ambient and chill, still keeping Khalid’s uplifting vibe. Although he may take a different approach, one thing is for sure, he knows the formula to make a song speak to the heart.

On top of the smooth vocals and insane riffs that Khalid puts together, the instrumental sounds like the perfect end to the Summer. The most impressive part of this whole song, however, is the lyrics.

Khalid talks about the changes that we’ve all had to go through during these interesting times. He refers to feelings of anxiety and depression that comes with being alone. It’s all about re-introducing yourself to the world that we’ve seemed to lost touch with.

Hard-hitting lyrics like. “How fast the time goes, Living in the moment, taking you for granted, It’s a new normal, It’s up to us to live in it, Not to understand it”, will give you chills.

Khalid does a great job of making every line in this so relatable while also helping the listener see a bigger picture.

At the end, Khalid leaves with a positive message reminding his fans that this ‘new normal’ is just a season and things will get better. And as he prepares to release a new project we should expect things to get better very soon.

Normal For Khalid To Make Hits

Khalid made his big break with his debut studio album, American Teen in 2017. The album reached the US top-20 singles “Location” and “Young Dumb & Broke“. Since then he’s been become a household name and has gone viral around the world. After dropping three albums, he’s seen six Grammy nominations, six Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award.

Now he’s looking to get a few more accolades with a brand new project. “New Normal” is the first single off his upcoming third studio album Everything Is Changing, scheduled to drop this fall.
