Khalid Releases Summer Anthem, “Skyline”

Khalid has returned in all his glory with a new single titled “Skyline.” The track features his incredible vocals, bolstered by a feel-good dance beat. The 24-year-old has dropped a dreamy, euphoric anthem perfect for summer.

“Skyline” Captures All the Feelings

“Skyline” is his second single of 2022, following “Last Call” which released in March. The soothing dance track is also the first single off of his upcoming album, Everything is Changing. The new album is rumored to release later this year. “Skyline” captures all the blissful, complicated feelings of summer nights, falling in love, and fleeting time. With lyrics like:

“All lights, all on you / City lights fall on you / Such a beautiful world / We’re so high, I’m with you / Hypnotized, I’m with you.”

It’s no wonder the track is already such a hit.

Khalid’s Vision

In a press release for the single, Khalid details his vision for “Skyline.” He says, “‘Skyline’ to me is a recharge and full of summer vibes. I hope it brings my fans joy and gets them through any dark times they may be going through.” Khalid’s discography is constantly evolving, and his new single represents his growth as an artist. On Twitter, the famed El Paso native says, “This is one of my favorite songs of mine in a long time, I hope you guys enjoy it!”

Music Video for “Skyline”

No summer hit is complete without a music video, so of course Khalid dropped one. Featuring dreamy landscapes, bright and pastel colors there’s definitely a summer vibe. Killer dance moves plus a floating car make the video is certainly a must-watch. It captures the wholesome vibes of “Skyline” perfectly. Meanwhile displaying a visual unique to Khalid’s music.

More to Come

Though Khalid’s third studio album was expected to drop last year, it has been pushed back to a 2022 release date. In 2021, Khalid spoke of the album, saying “Everything Is Changing as an album really takes that a step further with all of the songs centering around trying to find a purpose and a sense of self in a world where everything is digitally connect but emotionally disconnected.” Regardless of when the album drops, fans can be sure that it will be an absolute mastery of his craft.
