The “Moment” singer teased a snippet of the new single via her social platforms along with a pre-save link on June 5. “On My Mama” is a follow-up single to the Caribbean-infused R&B Summer tune “Party Girls” and the Lucky Daye-assisted “Smoke.”

A Victoria Monét Rendition Of “I Look Good”

“On My Mama” samples Charly Boy’s 2009 hit Rap song “I Look Good” but stays true to Monét’s R&B roots. Victoria adds her signature smooth vocals and blaring trumpets in the production. Producers Deputy & Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman insert Charly’s “I Look Good” as the post-chorus bringing back all the 2009 nostalgia.

“On my mama (Mama), on my hood (Hood) / I look fly (Yeah), I look good (Good) / Touch my swag (Swag), wish you could (Could).”

Victoria floats over the soothing instrumentation with wavy melodies as she pridefully sings about the good looks and confidence passed down from her mom. “When they say, ‘She get it from her mama’ / I’ma say, ‘You f****n’ right’ / Body rude, it’s impolite.” Monét daydreams about living in a fantasy land where theres “permanent ecstasy”. “Ladies is pimps tonight / Livin’ inside a dream (Oh) / Let’s lay where the lover’s lie.”

Additionally, things get even steamier in the second verse of “On My Mama” as Monét brags about her skills in the bedroom. “Sex game go stupid (Ayy) / Snappin’ like a toothpick (Ayy) / Man, to tell the truth, your opinion is irrelevant / But I, I know you think I’m fine / Might be too fine to hit it from behind.” Also, she attributes her divine scent to being “heaven-sent.”

A Stacked Resume Of Co-Written Hits

TikTok being the powerful musical engine it is, has brought attention recently to Victoria’s 2020 Jaguar LP. Specifically, the soulful interlude “We Might Even Be Falling In Love.” It’s about time Victoria Monét is showered with the success and flowers she rightfully deserves. She is a co-writer behind smash hits from artists like Ariana Grande, BLACKPINK, Chloe x Halle, and so many more. Not to mention, she has been releasing quality music of her own since 2014.
