Attention to all George Strait and Chris Stapleton lovers! It’s no secret that Chris Stapleton is almost always on the road, but Stapleton just announced that country legend, George Strait, will be joining him on tour for now seven of these tour dates! Luckily, the tour still hasn’t sold out of any dates.
Who’s On Stage?
George Strait officially retired from touring in 2014, shying away from the limelight. So, for the past decade, Strait only plays at a couple of events each year on his slow roll towards retirement. Many fans even believed his most recent concert in 2014 would be his last. This year, the King of Country will be performing for the largest crowds he’s seen in years! Strait enthusiastically shared with Billboard that the choice to tour with Chris Stapleton “feels like a no-brainer” and that he is going “all in” for these shows. He’ll be playing his biggest hits, tracks from his new album Honky Tonk Time Machine, and likely even dueting with Stapleton!
Tour Dates
The first concert will be in May, where they’ll start in Arizona. Then, they’ll make their way through Wisconsin, Washington, Colorado, Tennessee, ending the series in Florida during August. Better yet, George Strait isn’t the only big name coming along with Stapleton on these dates. Little Big Town is joining in on the fun. All in all, this powerhouse group has 13 mutli-platinum records, 36 platinum records, 12 Grammys, and 48 Grammy Nominations. Chris Stapleton and George Strait will headline the Buckeye Country Superfest in Ohio. Little Big Town and Warren Zeiders will also join them before continuing to Wisconsin.
