All-Female Trio Dream Wife Drop “Social Lubrication”

Ground breaking and revolutionary trio Dream Wife announce and drop their latest album, Social Lubrication.

Discover Dream Wife

London based English band Dream Wife is one of the hottest, most innovating and boundary breaking bands of the decade.

An all-female band, the group started working in 2016 on the lines of punk, indie rock and pop. Assertive, elegant and forceful, the trio consists of Rakel Mjöll on lead vocals, Alice Go on guitar, and Bella Podpadec on bass started performing bringing a new perspective on hot topics and themes like feminism, gender roles, body image and sexual objectification. The group was inspired by artists of the likes of classic icons like Madonna and David Bowie, as well as Be Your Own Pet, Sleigh Bells, Le Tigre, Debbie Harry and Grimes.

The mentioned themes are also central in the group’s latest release, Social Lubrication. Captained by singles “Leech” and “Orbit,” the album revolves around the themes left hanging in their previous releases, 2020’s So When You Gonna… and 2018’s Dream Wife. The trio faces head on discussions on hot topics and central points in today’s society such as abortion, attractiveness, appearance, gender and sexuality. What makes the album particularly interesting, however, is that the group never gets too serious about these messages, maintaining a light hearted tone that keeps the record highly enjoyable.

Between the UK and North America

Dream Wife is currently touring. Leaving their native country soon for a few dates in Iceland and Ireland, then the group will soon move on to the US. The band will perform in five different cities – New York, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles – in September. The band will then return to the UK and Ireland to conclude their autumn events in October.
