Coi Leray, pseudonym of Brittany Collins, is an American rapper and singer born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 11, 1997 and raised in New Jersey. She began writing songs in her teen years and dropped out of school at the age of 16 to pursue a career in music. Over the last few months, Coi has made a name for herself and has grown rapidly in the world of rap, proposing what she herself defines as “new”, “Something that hasn’t been done before” (as she told in an interview to TMZ).
The star made herself known through social media. She quickly grew up and found her success in January 2021, when she released the single “No More Parties.” The single quickly became viral on TikTok. As a result, she recorded a remix of the song in collaboration with Lil Durk Leray. With this song she reached the Billboard Hot 100 the first time. In March, thanks to her TikTok fame, she reaches the US Hot 100. Back in May she had success on her collab with Destiny Rogers on a remix of “Tomboy.”
