Charlie Puth just recently dropped his newest single “I Don’t Think That I Like Her.”
Charlie Puth’s “I Don’t Think That I Like Her”
“I Don’t Think That I Like Her” is Charlie Puth’s fifth single from his upcoming album, Charlie. “Light Switch,” “That’s Hilarious,” “Left and Right (Feat. Jungkook of BTS),” and “Smells Like Me” all preceded this single earlier in the year. Puth has a special guest on “I Don’t Think That I Like Her”: Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker plays the drums on the song.
“I Don’t Think That I Like Her” is a pop song about how Puth can’t seem to connect with any of the girls he meets. In the beginning of the song, he gets her name, number, even meets her parents, like “a real relationship.” However, though for him the “stars are aligning,” for her, it’s “bad timing.” Puth then, somewhat childishly, declares “I don’t think that I like her anymore.” He says that “Girls are all the same / All they wanna do is break my heart.” Girls just want to see him “fall apart.”
In verse two, he hooks up “on a rebound” after saying he’ll just be “single for life.” But, of course, Puth falls for her, as she’s just “so pretty and nice.” He makes an exception for her, but finds out he’s not her type. This leads to another chorus of him saying he doesn’t think he likes her anymore.
The bridge sees Puth sing about how he’s trying to not be “bitter,” but he can’t help it. He’ll “miss her / ‘Cause she’s one of a kind.”
