Indie’s Biggest Voices Team Up for The Wild Hearts Tour
Last summer, Angel Olsen and Sharon Van Etten released one of the best songs of the year, “Like I Used To”. It even ranked at number nine on Music Daily’s 21 Best Indie Songs of 2021. Meanwhile this summer, the pair have tapped Julien Baker for a U.S. tour. The three artists will coheadline The Wild Hearts Tour, with Spencer. serving as the supporting act. Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday, January 14 at 10 AM. As a result of the pandemic and its many variants, the trio opted for mostly outdoor venues. The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and Massey Hall in Toronto are the only exceptions.
Is a Collaboration In the Works?
Most importantly, this tour means we’re likely to get a collaboration between the artists. Three of the biggest voices in indie folk coming together for an anthem? What more could you want?
In August, Olsen released Aisles, a EP of 80’s covers featuring songs from Billy Idol, Men Without Hats, and more. Baker released her third studio album, Little Oblivions, in early 2021. Subsequently, Baker teamed up with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus for a boygenius benefit show in November. Van Etten released a double LP, epic Ten, with 7 songs from Van Etten on Disc 1 and the same 7 songs on Disc 2 with features from other artists.
