WHAT WOULD YOU DO if the World Ended in a Week? HONNE Want to Know

British electronic duo HONNE enlisted singer-songwriter Pink Sweat$ for their new single, “WHAT WOULD YOU DO?”

The duo’s new single is vastly clever. HONNE’s new song is principally about imagining you got some information about the world ending in a week. You are the only one who knows so far, so what would you do with your week left?

“WHAT WOULD YOU DO?” is the band’s first new piece of music since December’s festive-themed “warm on a christmas night”. It follows their acclaimed, 14-track mixtape no song without you, which was released last summer.

Breakout R&B star Pink Sweat$ released his much-anticipated debut album Pink Planet back in February, and he joins the duo in the new track. “WHAT WOULD YOU DO?” sees HONNE in full bloom as collaborators, pushing their sound into new and broader spaces.

“In the past, we’ve limited ourselves”, HONNE explain. “We might get to a section of a song and things are getting really exciting, but we then pull ourselves back and say, ‘Can we really do that?’. Now, we’ve sidestepped the rules and done whatever we wanted to do.”

The protagonist is seen in the accompanying music video feeling confused about what to do now that he knows the world is ending soon. He ends up deciding to feel confident. He does the things he felt hesitant about doing for a while – such as asking the girl he likes out. HONNE shared on Instagram, “IT’S OUR ACTING DEBUT Y’ALL! Watch out Hollywood, we’re coming for ya and Pink Sweat$ is coming with us.”

HONNE also stayed busy on remix duties last year, including their rework of Australian act Cosmo’s Canyon’s “A Million Times.” “We wanted to bring out more of the emotive elements of the lyrics by re-harmonizing with picked clean electric guitars and soaring synths,” HONNE said of the remix upon its November 2020 release.
