Thomas Rhett Unites With Katy Perry & Considers a Future Collab

Thomas Rhett recently joined forces with Katy Perry for the title track of his newest album Where We Started. But that’s not all, the country star is already thinking about who he wants to join forces with for a next song and you won’t believe who it is!

Thomas Rhett Was a Fan of Katy Perry For Years!

So, first things first. His collaboration with Katy Perry is dreamy, and both singers sound astounding together. From the beginning, Rhett thought that the global pop star would be a great fit for the song, but he wasn’t sure if she was going to feel the same way. To his surprise, Katy completely loved the song!

“I was like, ‘Yeah, but they’re not gonna respond,’ Rhett told Taste of Country. “And literally within 24 hours Katy responded and said, ‘I love this. I resonate with this so well.’ When she put her vocal on it, it took her, like, two weeks. She really put a lot of time and effort into this vocal…This reminded me of how amazing a vocalist she is, and I feel like it really came to life.”

There Could be a Collaboration Between Him & Niall Horan in the Future

And we’re absolutely thrilled that the pair got together for this project! But, now that Rhett’s album is out, he’s not wasting any time looking at who else he wants to work with for another collaboration. The answer? No one else than another pop star… Niall Horan!

“I feel like every time I and Niall are together we threaten to do some sort of collaboration,” Rhett said about Horan. “We have written a couple of times but I don’t think we have written the song yet for us to do. We stay in touch, especially when he’s in town. He’s just a good buddy. I love Niall and his solo projects. It would be a lot of fun to just find a week and be like, ‘We’re going here and we’re going to write and whatever the best one is, we’re going to do it together.’ I can see there being a me and Niall collaboration in the next couple of years.”

So, what do you think of all these collabs? Do you like the sound of country and pop coming together? Let us know in the comments!
