The Vaccines Deliver “Thunder Fever”

English indie-rock band The Vaccines released their latest single “Thunder Fever,” arriving as their first single since their album Back In Love City.

The Vaccines Are Unstoppable With “Thunder Fever”

It has only been 5 months since the Vaccines released their fifth studio album Back In Love City. The album included a total of 13 songs and none of those featured any other artists. What it did include was hit songs like “Alone Star,” “El Paso,” and “Wanderlust.” The good news is, we didn’t have to wait too long to hear new music from the band, as they already released a brand new single!

“Thunder Fever” is a playful song that talks about the feeling of falling in love for the first time. “Thunder fever, nobody beats ya. Mona Lisa, Julius Caesar. All try. They can’t light up the sky. Thunder fever just wanna see us. Spin Like Venus,” they sing in the chorus.

“‘Thunder Fever’ plays on the idea that falling in love can feel as powerful, intense, and as sudden as something meteorological,” band member Justin Young explains. “Something heaven sent. It feels out of this world. Pop music has always been obsessed with the other-worldly, and that’s how the best of it often looks and feels – it relies on hyperbole.”

He continues, “I thought our inability to travel to the edge of life’s extremes over the last couple of years and experience any form of hyperbole ourselves added a new and cruel dimension to this. But hopefully, “Thunder Fever” allows some escape. It comes at a time when the storm clouds finally feel like they’re parting and hopefully it sounds as fun and frenetic as taking shelter from the rain with someone you can’t get out of your head.”

They Are Going on Tour Across the UK This April

The new song arrives just as The Vaccines announced their headlining UK tour that will kick off this April. Starting on April 13, they will make stops in big cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, and London before making a final stop in Glasgow on April 24. Black Honey will join them as the supporting act. All dates and tickets are available here.
