Taylor Swift just released the re-recorded version of her popular song ‘Love Story.’ But that’s not it! She also announced that the re-recorded version of her album Fearless is done. In the announcement, she hid a message about the release date, which fans were quick to find.
Taylor’s Announcement of ‘Love Story’ and Fearless (Taylor’s Edition)
Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is the first of Taylor’s re-recorded albums, which she created to regain ownership of the six albums she created under Big Machine Records. It includes a new version of every song on Fearless Platinum Edition, along with a standalone single “Today Was a Fairytale” and six never-heard-before songs she cut from the original 2008 Fearless album.
Last week, Taylor appeared on Good Morning America to announce her re-recording of ‘Love Story’. It came out that night at midnight. Later that morning, Swift posted a letter to fans on Instagram. In it, she thanked them for their support and expressed her excitement about the project. For her first five albums, she left hidden notes via capitalized letters in her album booklets. She continued this tradition to hide the message “April Ninth” in the note, revealing the release date.
The Album Will Include Six New Songs
Taylor talked about the six new songs the album will include in her announcement. “Only I know which songs I wrote that almost made the Fearless album. Songs I absolutely adored, but were held back for different reasons (don’t want too many breakup songs, don’t want too many down tempo songs, can’t fit that many songs on a physical CD).”
She continued, “Those reasons seem unnecessary now. I’ve decided I want you to have the whole story. See the entire vivid picture, and let you into the entire dreamscape that is my Fearless album. That’s why I’ve chosen to include 6 never before released songs on my version of this album. Written when I was between the ages of 16 and 18, these are the ones it killed me to leave behind.”
