Taylor Swift Dominates the Charts with “Tortured Poets Department” Tracks

This week, our top trending track is none other than Taylor and Post Malone's "Fortnight."

It’s no surprise to hear that Taylor Swift is gracing the charts. But it is rather impressive to see it’s not just one song, but four that have made it onto this week’s edition of Music Daily’s track report.

With the release of her new album, The Tortured Poet’s Department, Taylor Swift has had the world in a frenzy since dropping news about TTPD in February after her 13th GRAMMY win. Moreover, with 31 tracks on the record, it was inevitable that Taylor would take over the charts to some degree. Since its release on April 19th, it seems you can’t flip the channel on any radio without stumbling upon a Tortured Poets song. Here are the ones that are currently on the rise:

Taylor Swift and Post Malone Top The Charts

This week, our top trending track is none other than Taylor and Post Malone‘s collaborative track, “Fortnight.” The song is the first single to stem from the new album. Suffice it to say, it was a shocking surprise for fans of Swift and Posty. Post Malone sings background vocals throughout “Fortnight”—a refreshing shift from the typical raps he’s known for. As the first song of the album, “Fortnight” reveals the lyric that embodies the theme of The Tortured Poets Department: “I love you, it’s ruining my life.” Their vocals complement each other beautifully as they tell the tale of fleeting romance. It marks the first drop of color to bleed its way onto the pages of poetry that is TTPD.

“The first single from The Tortured Poets Department is…………. Fortnight featuring @postmalone 🤍 I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever. I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight.”

Other standout tracks that have found their way onto our Trending Tracks chart include “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” and “But Daddy, I Love Him,” at ranks 6, 7 and 14, respectively. One thing consistent across all of these tracks is the iconic quality of the one-liners that are bound to get stuck in your head upon listening. For example, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” boasts the line, “I’m so depressed I act like it’s my birthday, every day.” Whether you listen to the songs only once or a dozen times, so many lyrics ingrain themselves in your mind effortlessly. Taylor’s mastered the concept of creating catchy, relatable tracks that parade through your brain. So it’s no wonder that these particular tracks are the ones littered throughout the charts. They’re the ones that stick.
