Spanish Trap Boss La Zowi is Always Club Ready

The 31-year-old is ready to take her sexuality to the dance floor with her new EP, 'Pussy Taste.'

Spanish trap musician La Zowi is no stranger to scrutiny. Ever since her debut single, “Ratxeta,” (a loanword re-appropriation of the English word “ratchet”), the bombastic lyrics of sex and money were foreign to Spain, and even more so to her Flamenco background.

Yet her iconic catchphrase—”La Zowi, Puta!”—pieced together her many music eras involving drugs, her “goonies” and her braggadocious attitude into a steady feeling of female empowerment. Last September, she paraded her trap excellence around eight effervescent cities and festivals for her Queen of The South tour.

Out of her many collaborations, Namasenda’s 2021 hypersonic single, “Demonic,” is perhaps Zowi’s most audacious verse. The Madrid-based artist told Paper Magazine, “I really love her [Namasenda’s] swag; she’s like a cute demon. I love that her music is dark and still made for princesses.”

Zowi’s new EP, Pussy Taste, is a devilish foreplay like no other. Though Zowi saves her climatic “Culo Shake” for last, its high-energy distortion and digital wetness is an undeniable conversation starter as the EP’s centerpiece.

Chronologically speaking, Pussy Taste starts off sweet, laced with an orgasmic intro that drops into the main spastic “ORGASM” of the seven tracks. Then, Zowi shifts into a seething neediness fit for a stripper pole on “Mis Putas Lo Mueven PT 1 & 2” and “No Me Hables.” The only “break” in Pussy Taste is “Primark.” But, Zowi’s pen game is just as aggressive against the bohemian trap-adjacent beat.

If Paper Magazine’s latest story doesn’t give it away, Zowi’s Pussy Taste EP is made for the club-going enthusiasts. The ones who practically eat, sleep, breathe and, most importantly, sweat on the dancefloor. Paired with the insanely high BPM, the 16-minute project has a monstrous replay rate that should last all night.

Give it a try; La Zowi’s new EP Pussy Taste, is out on all streaming platforms now! Listen below. Read more Music Discoveries on Music Daily!
