“I’m Pressed”
The Baltimore-born, New York-based singer Serpentwithfeet, is back with a smooth song. “I’m Pressed” is a lively new track built on a house beat, and it’s got a silky, stunning vocal performance of which Serpentwithfeet always brings.
“I’m Pressed” is a follow-up from his captivating collaboration with New York DJ and producer Moby, with “on air.” We at Music Daily see this as the perfect follow-up. Especially due to the difference in tone between the two songs, yet they keep that excellent velvety tone that we love from Serpentwithfeet.
Serpentwithfeet
Josiah Wise, known professionally as serpentwithfeet, is an experimental musician based in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. He puts a twist on gospel and R&B up into a beautiful new form. After university, he spent time in Paris and Philadelphia’s neo-soul scene. Shortly after, he released his first single, “Curiosity of Other Men,” in 2014.
From his memory of Baltimore, Serpentwithfeet is on point with recalling the club music scene. He got the idea for the song by stumbling across some drama on a recently dumped guy that Wise was there to treat better than the guy’s last man.
Based on these lyrics, serpentwithfeet is the perfect suitor.
I’m no good at sports, I could never play the field
I like touching on you, I like-like the way you feel
I’m wiping out all competition (yeah)
You’re the one I’m trying to get in (yeah)
Never been lazy, I’ma work it (mmm)
Watch out, fellas…serpentwithfeet’s the real deal.
