Sech, Dalex, Justin Quiles, Lenny Tavárez, Dímelo Flow: The Avengers Are Back!

“La Academia está de regreso.” 5 years after their latest appearance, “The Avengers” are back with new music.

The urban genre group formed by Dalex, Justin Quiles, Lenny Tavárez, Sech and Dímelo Flow was born in 2019 with the drop of The Academy. The project is composed of seven tracks and features Feid (as a member of the group), Cazzu, De La Ghetto, Zion & Lennox, Wisin and Mariah Angeliq.

The idea behind The Academy came from playing around in the studio. Flow, Sech, Lenny, Feid and Dalex gave each other the names of characters from The Avengers, and the superhero concept took on a life of its own. Each featured act brought their own strength. After its release in October 2019, the record quickly became a huge success in Latin America. It also went over quite well in North America. It reached No. 11 and No. 10 in US Top Latin Albums & US Latin Rhythm Albums, respectively. Last but not least, it became certified platinum for the song “Quizás.”

The Academy: Segunda Misión

The Academy: Segunda Misión, the sequel of The Academy, dropped unexpectedly on March 28, 2024. The tracklist includes nine songs featuring collaborations with urban genre artists, including Myke Towers, Yandel, María Becerra, Arcángel, Eladio Carrión, De La Ghetto, Jay Wheeler, Ryan Castro, iZaak, Randy, Zion, Omar Courtz, Bryant Myers, Dei V and Natti Natasha.

A Surprising Absence

What is particularly surprising, though, is that Feid, a major protagonist of The Academy’s chapter one, is not present on this record. “The Avengers” have received many critiques for this, but it seems the absence was due to a discographic issue. Feid is indeed the only artist who’s not under Rich Music Label and it is rumored that they have not reached an agreement on the royalties. The Academy: Segunda Misión is now available on all music streaming platforms. Below you’ll find this MD writer’s favorite tracks.

  • “SI SI SI SI” (feat Eladio Carrion, Bryant Myers, Dei V)
  • “LA RANGER” (feat. Mike Towers)
  • “LATTE” (feat. Maria Becerra)
  • “EL ROYCE” (feat. Natti Natasha, iZaak)
