Sony Music and The Estate of Michael Jackson produced The Michael Jackson Blue Sapphire Celebration Immersive Event in Las Vegas at the Shoppes at Mandalay Bay. The free interactive event was from August 27-29 to celebrate the King of Pop’s birthday.
The celebrations continued with a Q&A inside the Michael Jackson ONE Theater with Tony award-winning actor Myles Frost, known for his breakout role in the Broadway production of “MJ the Musical.”
The free three-day interactive event transported attendees into the world of Michael Jackson’s music. With interactive elements and specific track-focused experiences and photo moments throughout, fans are one step closer to knowing their favorite performer.
“People ask me how I make music. I tell them I just step into it,” the pop performer once said. “It’s like stepping into a river and joining the flow. Every moment in the river has its song.”
Jackson, born on August 29, 1958, would’ve celebrated his 65th birthday (aka the Blue Sapphire birthday.) In his lifetime, he rose from the Jackson 5’s musical prodigy to the most influential pop-culture figure in the 20th Century. Jackson dominated the ’80s with the record-breaking three-album run Off The Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), and Bad (1987).
The King of Pop inspired a new generation of artists (Justin Timberlake, Usher, and Britney Spears, etc.) from his new-styled music video for “Thriller” to his heart-pumping dance choreography, leaving him a prominent pop figure through the ’90s with Dangerous (1991). Single successes, such as “Black or White” and the Janet Jackson collaboration “Scream,” are only tiny glimpses into Jackson’s stardom.
The Michael Jackson Blue Sapphire Celebration Immersive Event in Las Vegas brought all his professional victories and personal highlights to life.
