Music Re-Discovery: The Faim After A Two Year Hiatus

Finalizing out our Music Re-Discovery is the Australian rock band The Faim. They returned late in 2021 after a two-year hiatus. They released their new single “Ease My Mind,” and fans are loving it.

Two Years Without The Faim

It’s been two long years since we last heard new music from The Faim. The rock band shared their debut album State of Mind in September of 2019, and that was the last taste of new music from them, until now. The band is back and better than ever with new music.

Produced and mixed remotely by LA-based collaborator Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Yungblud, Machine Gun Kelly), “Ease My Mind” is full of energy and guitar-infused. The upbeat rock-pop track talks about feeling lost in the world and not knowing where to go. “TV’s sounding scary. Behind my eyes. Sunday’s keep me up at night. Won’t you ease my mind. Wake to a bedroom. I should recognize. Fall asleep to pass the time,” they sing in the first verse.

“Ease My Mind” Marks Their Return

Bassist, keyboardist, and songwriter Stephen Beerkens says of the release: “‘Ease My Mind’ was written last year, during a very unpredictable period of my life. Unable to do the things that meant most to me, I found myself dealing with stress and emotions I’d never experienced. During this time, I was constantly looking for someone or something to lean on and wrote ‘Ease My Mind’ about processing and dealing with these emotions.”

The Faim have proven themselves as a group of musicians who are all about making genuine songs that bring people together and create a community. “Our hearts and souls are on our sleeves 100 percent of the time,” Stephen says. “The goal is to play music we love for our entire career.”

The Faim will release their new album, “Talk Talk” on June 3rd. Then return to Europe in the summer of 2022 for performances. Until now, they have already confirmed their presence in these important festivals: Rock am Ring and Rock in the Park (Germany, June 3-5), Download Festival (UK, June 11), and Rock For People (Czech Republic, June 18.)
