Danish singer-songwriter MØ recruited pop artist Rebecca Black for a new remix version of her single “New Moon.”
Rebecca Adds Her Own Style to “New Moon” Remix
Rebecca gives the new version of the song a good new vibe. Originally, “New Moon” focused on MØ’s high-pitch vocals and vivid EDM tones. And now that Rebecca is in the mix, she puts her own taste to it, adding a new verse and joining forces with MØ during the chorus.
“New Moon” is about letting that toxic person in your life go, and knowing that you’re making the right decision when doing so. “Used to drain me, and push me, and pull me. But I’m not that somebody that you used to bully,” MØ sings. “Don’t you know it’s a new moon? And I’m over you, over you,” the pair then sing together.
“Mø has been one of my favorite artists ever since I heard ‘No Mythologies to Follow’ for the first time in high school,” Rebecca says about the collab. “It’s been a dream to get to put a verse on this song, which I fell in love with as soon as I heard it. So excited for everyone – very much including my high school self – to get to hear this song.”
MØ adds, “‘New Moon’ is a song about manifesting a new era, a song about regaining control. Rebecca Black fit so perfectly into this energy and I love what she brought to this song. I also just adore her & it was so much fun to collaborate on this!”
