Mitski announced new tour dates to promote her upcoming album, The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We. The tour is a unique one. Each concert is actually a sit-down acoustic affair.
The North American presale access was a lottery system, a newer approach to combating spam bots buying out tickets and reselling them at a ridiculous price. Tickets still sold out quickly. However, expect regular resellers to offer tickets in the days to come.

Mitski launched a series of film screenings and album previews in conjunction with the release and touring of her new album. Fans visited select theaters across the globe to watch the films Days Of Heaven (directed by Terrence Malick, 1978), Desert Hearts (dir. Donna Deitch, 1986), Drugstore Cowboy (dir. Gus Van Sant, 1989), or La Strada (dir. Federico Fellini, 1954). Mitski supposedly cites these films as inspiration for the new album. Also, after the film, fans were allowed to hear a sneak peek of the album.
Mitski did not attend these film screenings/album previews. However, a limited edition poster was given to fans who attended. The week after the film screenings, fans in Tokyo, Japan were invited to attend a unique album listening party.
