This past Friday, Canadian duo Majid Jordan dropped some new music for the year with some undeniable funk. The recent single “Been Through That” showcases the unique synth-driven R&B that earned them a spot on OVO Sound Label.
From the catchy chores and melodies, to the punchy drums, this is a banger without a doubt. This song came out just in time for summer and put out the perfect mood.
With only this being their second track of the year, we can expect Majid Jordan to be putting together something special. Its only right since the last time we heard this duo was back in 2019. Their last studio album, The Space Between, was released back in 2017.
Since then they have made a few singles, including “Caught Up” with Khalid in 2019. Then we all took a year off in 2020, and Majid were no different. Then in April of this year they surprised us all with the hidden gem of “Waves Of Blue“. The soulful electronic R&B sound puts them in a lane of their own and on repeat in your head.

If you’re not familiar with the R&B soul pair of Majid Jordan, you’re missing out on one of the best acts endorsed by Rap king himself: Drake.
They first made their big appearance way back in 2016 with their self-titled debut album. The top songs that saw acclaim from the album were “My Love” featuring Drake and “Something About You“.
In addition, Majid Jordan showed their ear for R&B early on helping co-produce the hit song “Hold On, We’re Going Home“.
The next year in 2017, the duo came back quick to bring us The Space Between. In spite of having star appearances from PARTYNEXTDOOR and dvsn the follow up didn’t get much hype. But after so much time they are back and putting together quite the track list.
Be on the lookout for Majid Jordan to be dropping some more heat in the future and who knows maybe an album by the end of the year.
