Maisie Peters is in Love With “Cate’s Brother”

English singer-songwriter Maisie Peters released her newest song “Cate’s Brother,” following on her debut album You Signed Up For This.

“Cate’s Brother” Tells All The Details About Her New Romance

Maisie Peters is back! Last year, the rising pop artist released her debut album You Signed Up For This, which included hit songs like “Psycho” and “Volcano.” Now, she’s back with a brand new single, “Cate’s Brother.”

“Cate’s Brother” talks about all the details of Maisie’s new romantic relationship. Turns out, she’s now dating her friend Cate Canning’s brother, and she decided to make a song about it. We’re not complaining! The song is really cute, and it details every moment since they met up until their present status.

“I threw this Halloween party. And I invited forty of my best friends. Cate and Tommy showed up…Cate had had family stay from Canada. “Maisie, did you meet my brother?” the song starts. Then, it continues, “And then I said, “No, I didn’t.” And then he started coming over.” The middle of the song tells more information about their romance, and the song ends “That’s when I became his only girl. And now I date Cate’s brother. Cate’s brother.”

“I wrote this song in Stockholm at a time I was revisiting a lot of the pop-punk music I grew up listening to, and thinking about how live I wanted my next era of music to feel,” Maisie told Atwood Magazine. “I always wanted to be in a band and so I channeled that energy into this song about my friend Cate’s brother; that’s become this whole universe bigger than both of us.”
