Lil Yachty Arranges The Field Trip Tour For Fall 2023

39-Stop Field Trip Tour With Lil Yachty

Lil Yachty announces The Field Trip Tour, launching September 21 in support of his beloved psychedelic rock LP Let’s Start Here. Produced by Live Nation and Bose, Yachty’s team announced the 39-stop global tour last month. The Field Trip Tour hits the ground running in Washington, DC at Echostage on September 21 and comes to a close on December 17 at the Gasometer in Vienna, Austria. General tickets sales began on Friday, May 12. As of now, Lil Yachty has not revealed an opener or supporting acts for The Field Trip Tour. You can find all the details here.

The 25-year-old genre-bending artist will reimagine his most recent work Let’s Start Here for an intimate live experience for his fans on stages across North America. For the year-end The Field Trip Tour, Lil Yachty will stop in New York, Philadelphia, Montreal, Toronto, Charlotte, New Orleans, San Diego, Portland, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, and many more. As a matter of fact, the tour will be a completely different experience than his other tours because of the drastic change in musical direction for his latest album, Let’s Start Here. Many consumers consider the psychedelic rock album to be the best work of his career thus far.

Let’s Start Here. Takes The Public By Storm

The objective for Lil Yachty’s most recent LP, Let’s Start Here. was to prove that he was “not just some SoundCloud rapper, not some mumble rapper, not some guy that just made one hit,” Yachty states during a private listening party for the album. In contrast to his previous Hip Hop releases, Let’s Start Here. is heavily-influenced by psychedelic alternative rock. The 14-track project has received widespread acclaim from listeners and fellow musicians.

While promoting the new album, Lil Yachty made some controversial remarks about rap and hip hop.

“This album is so special and dear to me,” he says. “I think I created it just because I really wanted to be taken serious as an artist, you know? Not just some SoundCloud rapper, not some mumble rapper, not some guy that just made one hit.”

Many people felt he was diminishing rap as a genre of music and art form. In order to be respected as an artist, people feel strongly that you should not have to belittle rap music and create genres outside of Hip Hop.

Then, Lil Yachty responded to the backlash on Twitter stating:

“It’s not about respecting rap, it’s about being respected as more than a rapper,” Yachty wrote in response to a viral tweet critiquing his initial statement. “I create music in more than just that lane.”
