Kito Teams Up With BANKS For “Sad Girl Music”

Australian-born, Los Angeles-based producer Kito is back with her first single of the year, and she recruited singer-songwriter BANKS to join her on “Sad Girl Music.”

Kito & BANKS Unite For a New Track

“Sad Girl Music” is Kito’s first song in nearly a year. Last November, however, she gave us the amazing Blossom EP, which included hit songs like “Steal My Clothes” featuring Bea Miller, “Skin & Bones” featuring Winona Oak, and “Follow” featuring Jeremih. With all that great music, she earned a well-deserved break!

Nevertheless, she’s now officially back, and she recruited another staggering pop artist to join her on the track. You might know BANKS from some of her hit tunes like “Someone New,” “Waiting Game,” or “Gemini Feed,” which are some of her older hits. However, this past April, she released her new album Serpentina, which put her on the radar of many new people. “The Devil” and “Skinnydipped” are some tracks in the project that you will want to check out.

“Sad Girl Music” is Their Bad Girl Anthem

Together, these two sound like a match made in heaven. Their voices are soft and sweet, which combined with a well-made pop tune, are giving us a song that is good for any moment of the day. In the song, they sing about making a mistake and ending up hurting their partner, which now doesn’t want to be involved in their lives.

“I know it was wrong, but what can I say. He’s my everything, but I ruin everything. Now I’m just a bad girl. Listening to sad girl music. I ain’t tryna lose my baby tonight,” they sing in the chorus.

“‘Sad Girl Music’ is our bad girl anthem,” Kito says. “I’ve had it on repeat ever since BANKS got on it and it’s definitely one of my favorite releases to date.”

“After working together on ‘Gimme,’ Kito and I always talked about making more music together,” BANKS adds. “When this song came together, it felt right. Doing a feature is fun for me because it gets me outside my box a little bit and this is a fresh, bouncy tune.”
